About Us

MAESCO the abbreviation for “Malaysia Association of Energy Service Companies” was formed and registered with the Registrar of Societies in September 2000 under the registration name of  “Pertubuhan Syarikat Syarikat Perkhidmatan Tenaga Malaysia”. It was incorporated during the implementation of the Malaysian Industrial Energy Efficiency Improvement Project (MIEEIP) by the Malaysian Government’s implementation agency.

As it’s name denotes, MAESCO was formed to bring together Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) within the nation under one entity. In togetherness under this entity, the Association was formed with the  Constitutional objective of;

● To develop recognized ESCO businesses in collaboration with Government and private sector.

● To actively promote the activity of cost reduction and efficiency standards of the industrial and commercial sector

● To oversee the well being of  it’s members

● To facilitate and do all things necessary towards developing successful energy related projects.

● To introduce related products and services for the industry

● To foster healthy co-existence amongst members through ethical professional practices

● Ensure prestige of services by members

The following logo was fostered of which the colors yellow and green  both relates to the Association’s belief, objective and practices. Yellow denotes the commitment of the Association and members alike towards  contributing professional beneficial services to the Society in general, whilst Green denotes the Association’s image in relation to it’s emphasis towards ‘green’ practices and responsibility towards the environment.

The Association is regulated by the Association’s Constitution under the governance of the Societies Act 1966. Under the Constitution, the Association is to have a Committee comprising five Council Members and nine Committee Members. This has however been amended to five Council members and five Committee Members.

Trainer’s Profile

Prof. Emeritus Ir. Dr. K S Kannan 
Dr. K S Kannan was professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and is currently the National Project Manager for the UNIDO-GEF project ‘Industrial EE for Malaysian Manufacturing sector’. Kannan graduated with a B.Eng. in mechanical engineering from Universiti Malaya, M.Sc. (Technology) from University of Manchester and Ph.D. from Universiti Malaya. He is a professional engineer registered with BEM, Fellow of IEM, Fellow IMechE and Fellow ASHRAE and a registered Electrical Energy Manager. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of energy, being involved in national/international energy projects and consultation.   

Mohammad Iskandar Majidi 
Mr. Iskandar is a Principal Consultant and Director of Climate Plus Sdn Bhd with extensive experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency fields. He is a graduate in Marine Engineering from Newcastle University, England. He is a registered electrical energy manager with ST and certified Energy Management Expert (UNIDO). He has been providing consultancy services in energy management and energy audit over the last 15 years with main focus on energy sustainability and carbon footprint reduction.

Ir. Kumarason S Kandiah
Ir. Kumarason is a graduate in B.Eng. mechanical engineering from UTM and also holds a Master’s degree from the same university. He is a registered professional engineer with BEM, registered Electrical Energy Manager with ST and certified Energy Management Expert (UNIDO). He has more than 10 years working experience in Energy Efficient Design and State of the Art Control systems. He has wide experience in conducting professional energy audit, energy retrofit, design concept that details potential savings with performance & feasibility studies particularly in ACMV systems.

Dr. VTR Dharamarajah
Dr. Dharamarajah is a registered Electrical Energy Manager. He specializes in commercial/industrial facility system energy efficient retrofit and experience in conducting measurement studies, energy audits and feasibility studies. He has wide knowledge in installation and design of energy management (instrumentation) control systems for ACMV and compressor systems. Dharmarajah is a graduate in B. Eng. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering with Energy Management from City University London U.K.
